A Friend from a Book

Currently, I am reading the book, The Diary of a Young Girl, by Anne Frank. In this book, Anne describes what it is like to be in hiding, what happens there, and what she thinks about the people living with her.
All the characters in this book have different personalities. However, I feel that I would most likely become friends with Anne Frank. I wold become friends with her because she is wants to be her own person and does not want to copy someone else. For example, she wants to be her own person because she doesn't like it when she is compared to her sister, Margot. On page 66, it says, "I show up terribly against them and am always hearing 'You don't find Margot or Peter doing that-why don't you follow their example? I simply loathe it...I want to be a strong character!" This shows that Anne doesn't want to be like Margot. She wants to be herself. I think that is why I would be her friend than anyone else in the book. I love that she actually has a unique personality and how she doesn't want to be like anyone else.

  1. I totally agree with you, Sneh! I think she would also be a good friend with me. Anne Frank doesn't want to be like anyone and hates being compared to. I am just like that. I also hate being compared to, and I like to be me, not anyone else. That also was a great quote, it really showed how she hated being compared to.
